Stig-Rune was born, 1975 in Bodo and he grew up in Bodesjoen/Alstad
in Bodo. He started as many others by playing on mom’s kitchen
appliances. “It was either my mom who got tired of me and
my noise or it was my father discovering a possible talent”.
At an early age (2-3 years old) he got he’s first plastic
drum set. Not long after the drum-set was totally smashed. He turned
back to his mom’s kitchen pans and casseroles.
By the age of 4, he got he’s first snare drum. An old Ludwig
snare, witch he unfortunately does not own today.
He got his first drum-set (picture at the top) at the age of 5 or
6. His neighbours complained so much that he had to practice in
the garage. At the age of 7, he joined a marching band. Learning
some basic techniques but he had to learn basically everything by
him self. Did that for 11 years and played in several bands at the
same time (TordenPølsene, SoSorry ).
At the age of 14, he started playing the guitar. Had a guitar teacher
for about 1 year, but he was to lazy to practice. But how to play
a guitar came in handy later when he became a music teacher and
played with his father In a to man band.
In Stig-Rune’s home it has always been music. He grew up
with he’s father playing keyboard in a local band and got
a lot of inspiration from him. When he’s father brought him
to the soundchecks of his band, listening to the drummer and by
listening to music in their home.
In the early years Stig-Rune was very inspired by Peter Kriss, drummer
in KISS.
All along he have been a rock drummer, but he developed a jazzy/funky
twist to everything.
Stig-Rune have played in a lot of local bands/projects in Bodø,
and his biggest time musically so far was probably when he played
in a band called Kinky Vibes. They where touring in Norway, Denmark
and Sweden and their biggest moment where Roskilde festival in 1996.
Today he is studying music at Høgskolen I Bodø and
is member of several band projects in Bodø. He works as a
drum teacher for Bodø Kommune and are making some music of
his own where he plays all the instruments by him selves.
In 2003 Stig-Rune got a son, Sigur. He's grandfather bought him
his first plastic drumset for his first birthday.
Stig-Rune would like to thank his family (Lena and Sigur) for all
the support and inspiration that they are giving him.
