Ole Ivar Jörgensen Conceived some night in '74, and sent out to sense light and oral food 11th. of february 1975.Raised with two elder brothers and his parents in the outskirts of Bodö.He soon got curious and eager for sounds and smells.Playing(pressing)organ,(pulling/plucking) guitar and (banging)kitchen stuff with other kitchen stuff. Since he never went to kindergarten,he was fumbling around listening to what his mom played(ABBA mostly......) while she did domestic work. When getting a bit older he had no choice but to eavesdrop to his brothers' collection which was filled with glam,ska,punk,rockabilly and eighties pop.After that,the body needed to check out the motorics of breakdance,and beatstreet and break machine and chaka khan and grafitti and electric boogie and scratching and "all that (abscence of)jazz",which he abandoned for sex pistols(!). |

| Hence the birth(spring 1990) of his first band "Tordenpölsene"("Thunder Sausages"),
(Stig Rune Holien on drums,me on guitar and Kristian Albertsen on bass) A punk band...which trigged
the lust for playing with other musicians.
He has since age of 14 been listening to old progressive rock,after his german teacher(Nicolai Midtun,thanks!!), critized him for wasting brains and time on punk.This holy teacher forced Ole to bring a tape-cassette the very next day so he could record him some REAL music!This cassette was almost impossible to get out of Oles walk-man for the next two years... because of King crimson,Velvet Underground,Mannfred Mans earth band,and The doors..... Johnny Rotten was forgotten! He was hooked on the good stuff,but never felt he was able to create or play such music. After this it just went on and on til ´96..... |

He played guitar in a band called "Blues Turtles"(Jostein Mo Hagen on microphone,Daniel Sandbakk
on guitar,Björn on double bass,and Marius on drums).
Then he continued playing guitar in "Y?",a psycho-rock,experimental band together with Börge Johansen on guitar,Steffan Kvarv on bass,Ole Hjalmar on vocals and Kjartan Rønvik on drums. Next up was "A janus' diary" where he sang and wanked tambourine and blew harmonica, with Tomas Kvitvik on guitar, Björn Myhre(first)and then later Raymond Ness on bass,and Öyvind Olsen on drums.Here things where getting a bit more serious and injected with some quality.Lyrics and riffs fitted eachother alot in this 70´s rock band. After the loss of some members(to another town,not to eternity...) Ole went together with Tomas Nygaard(guitar), Atle Johansen(drums),Tore Aasen(bass)and Terje Wold(vocal) in the new project called "Swallow your pride", Which got some grunge-labels from the press,but had not reckognized themself that much in that direction.. However this did not last longer than a year and a half maybe,so a kill-some-time-band for charity-projects from year to year on high school emerged: "Mulemuffins"(Paal Arntzen,guitar.Erlend Valle,drums.Frode Karlsen, waterbong.Ole Marius Rösten,bass.Knut Malmbekk,guitar. Other smaller,dead get-togetherings was "couragous exploras"(where he backed the two DJ's Truls Puls and Long Play on bass,so horribly bad that everybody who listens to it get restructured and decentralized all their essential aminoacids in disgust!)There was also Stig on drums and Odda on djembe.Odda was also a part of the attempt to start a 70's detective-funk band in 96,with again Stig,and Ole on bass. Terje Berg and Ole got together in this project´s rooms of practice and played and fumbled,they later founded "Park 70",a chill out project with organ,double bass,drum-machine,guitar,glockenspiel and effects.The two of them rotated on and behind the instruments. Ole later participated on Terjes first solo album,on harmonica. Ole has since´98 served 70's funk and disco to outgoing people as a dj under the pseudo "Oliver Pimpstick". Ole had for years been sitting with the guitar and his familys old yamaha organ making music he did not get to play with others.What he made did not usually fit in what he was a part of.When thinking of starting a new band which was going to play prog-rock,he had not played in a band for five years and felt quite rusty and nervous about the whole thing,but dived into it with good friends and musicians.He is today very happy for the decision and for the participation by the others in the band.Metrognoms existence is a (huge) part of Oles existence,and Metrognom is the birth of many years musical pregnancy. And more offsprings are to descend....or ascend? To make YOU transcend! |
